3. PRE-MEETING WORK:

3.1.Prior to the meeting, a specific list of topics will be developed by the Meeting Coordinator. Discussion topics should include both what we think we are doing that is going well and also where we are having discrepancies or difficulties.

3.2.Each team Representative will send topics of discussion to the coordinator. A good way to start this is by saying we want to talk about those things that "You spend all shift fixing, only to come in after 12 hours off and things were just how you found them the previous day."

3.3.The Meeting Coordinator will also solicit the Operations Specialists and the Unit Engineers for ideas of possible topics. Questions to ask when developing the topics.

3.3.1.What are we doing differently from team to team that is adversely effecting the operation of the plant?

3.3.2.What is getting in your way of doing a better job operating the plant?

3.3.3.How would you suggest we could improve your job overall?

3.4.Prior to the meeting a list of the proposed topics should be sent to the meeting participants so they are familiar with the topics and can come prepared to discuss the topics. It will also give the Team Representatives a chance to solicit input from their team if they are unfamiliar with a particular issue.

Material for the Meeting

3.5.2 sets of unit EFDs or P&Ids, along with Board Schematics, & process overviews. Have the Board Schematics made into transparencies or some other multi media format.

3.6.Extra tablets and pens.

3.7.Flip Charts with topics listed.

3.8.Blank Flip Charts.
