QUENCHING

1. Auto-cooling... based on:

  • Temperature and pressure
  • Flow and level
  • Time delays and spikes
  • This reduces stress on drums, required manpower and it gives consistency among shifts.

2. Fill drum during cooling

  • Overfill with water to blowdown
  • Put to atmosphere at the top level indicator
  • Overflow to put when out of blowdown

3. Switch straight to blowdown; stay out of the frac with steam stripping - can cut 30 to 60 minutes of cycle time.
