Cody, We did our conv sect in our last T/A (first time since 1983). We used an outfit which uses liquid CO2. Depending on size of convection, you need to open "side door" to access finned tubes. Make sure they bring their best machine available. In our case it broke more than twice and parts delivery took for ever (from Cal) to be able to fix machine and resume work. We weren't satify with the overall work (cleaningness) at first. However, tubes close to open door they were clean like "new", not as clean between doors or the less accessible tubes. Make sure the equipment operator "fits" in the tight spaces (very important to do a thorough job. Heater performance did improve as evidensed by excess O2 which are higher and even (not skewed) in both sides (E&W) of inlet to conv and been able to run 8% more rate.
