I wish I had the luxury of not having to worry about capital costs. I would like to install a third heater as well but I would put it in as a preheater to the other two existing heaters. By preheating the feed before the two heaters, it would reduce firing on the existing heaters and thereby would reduce coke formation in the tubes. This should extend runs between on-line spalling or heater shutdown and pigging. Another benefit would be the extension of the heater tube life.
