Handling of tar

I am interested in how to handling the tar from the bottom of coker. Especially, 1) Specifications of detar lines, diameter of line, control of tar temperature. 2) Kind of valve and filter to trap the coking. 3) Possibility of erosion of valves. If yes, how to decrease the erosion.
