BP Texas City Refinery Ultracraker Unit To Restart This WeekDec. 1, 2009

NEW YORK -(Dow Jones)- An ultracracker unit, or ULC, at BP's Texas City, Texas, oil refinery is expected to return to service this week after going off- line Nov. 26 owing to a compressor failure, a person familiar with operations at the plant said Tuesday.
The ULC, which is another name for a hydrocracking unit, uses hydrogen to convert heavy oil feedstocks into high quality, lighter fuel products such as gasoline, naphtha, jet or kerosene and diesel.
The Texas City refinery is BP's largest in the U.S., with the ability to process up to 455,800 barrels of crude oil a day.
